A. PWHT

Adalah suatu perlakuan panas yang dilakukan setelah pengelasan/machining untuk meningkatkan mechanical property dan struktur materia. Di industri fabrikasi baja PWHT dikenal dengan nama stress relieving.

Pemanasan pada pengelasan dibawah lower transformation temperature ±723oC yang dilakukan secara terkontrol(heating rate), ditahan (holding) pada waktu tertentu dan laju pendinginan juga dilakukan secara bertahap(Cooling rate)

 

B. Fungsi:

Untuk menghilangkan tegangan sisa akibat panas yang diterima material akibat pengelasan. Dan memperhalus struktur micro yang membesar karena proses pengelasan.
